Stone is used to for constructing new buildings and for upgrading many of the existing buildings in your city once they reach a higher level.

Despite many buildings requiring stone to be upgraded at this point in the game, such as the Caravan, Headquarters, and even the Quarry itself, there are many ways to collect stone without having built the Quarry.

Levels of stone

Developing and growing your city is key to finding stone and progressing in the game.

By upgrading and constructing more buildings in your city, you will gain experience points which will contribute to your city level.

When your city levels up you will win a selection of fantastic rewards, and once you reach level 12 you will start to receive stone for levelling up.

Diamonds are a gladiator’s best friend

Without using strategy and patience, gaining stone to upgrade your city before unlocking the Quarry can be a painful challenge.

You don’t have to wait to gain stone to upgrade your buildings if you want to progress faster.

Using gems to pay for the resources you don’t have is a great way to accelerate your city development progress until you eventually unlock the Quarry at Headquarters level 7.

It will cost you around 10 gems to pay for 3000 stone that is needed for some buildings and you can receive gems for free from chest prizes, free chests around the world map, and combat and city rewards.

Strategic Victory in Event Rounds

As the weekly events lurk round the corner it’s time to brush up on your battle tactics to increase your chances of the ultimate victory and the most glorious of prizes. We explore the strategic ways to improve your battle success.

Rounds of death and glory

During weekly events you will likely come across a different type of combat madness. Combat rounds include multiple battles which you must complete in order to advance to the next stage in the event.

Should you gain victory after a round, you will be shown a new set of opponents. You will have then have the opportunity to move and change your gladiators should you choose to do so, which could be very strategic.

As well as this, between rounds you will get to choose a special power up out of a selection of 3. You will always be able to select one powerup at no cost, however can pay with gems to additionally activate the other powerups during the next round.

These powerups can include health boosts to heal your injured gladiators in the arena, increased tactical points, or boosts to movement, attack or defense.

Redeployed success

As with normal combat, status effects can be inflicted on your gladiators during battle. If you are successful and defeat the opponent, but your gladiators still experience a conditioning effect, that condition will remain for the next round.

It must be noted however, that you can remove your gladiators from the arena before the next round begins which will also remove their status effects.

This can be extremely strategic as it means you won’t start the next battle with stunned gladiators!

You can still decide to redeploy the same gladiator back into the arena, and you simply position them in your desired location in the arena as normal.

But be careful! If your gladiators have still have active skills at the end of a successful round, removing them from the arena will also remove their active skills. This means that even if you redeploy them in the arena, their active skill will not be operating at the start of the next combat.

How to boss the rounds of combat

Practise makes perfect when trying to create a strategy for combat rounds. This means that having a knowledge of how the rounds work, and in particular the final round, is vital to your event success.

It’s very common for the final rounds of events to include a singular mighty boss who can send your gladiators straight to the Infirmary with one quick swing of their sword.

This means it may be strategic to save your best gladiators, particularly those with the highest health, till the final rounds.

Using this tactic will mean your strongest gladiators will have the best change and defeating the most challenging part of the rounds.

As outlined in a previous blog posts about single bosses such as the Undertaker and the Wall, strategy is crucial to beat them. Only the strongest and most strategic will survive these legendary beasts and last to see the ultimate victory and glory.

So it’s time to brush up on your battle tactics, train your gladiators, and get ready to head for the event arenas and test out your epic new strategy for the combat rounds!
