Brand new updates mean shiny new orb bonuses

With the brand new Gladiator Heroes update come shiny new bonuses. Read on to find out all about the exciting new orb bonuses that come from the Orb Bonuses tab in your Clan Building.

All things shiny and full of bonuses

Orbs can be found from chests after successful combat or the Merchant and are usually stored in the Sculptor to make bonuses for your city.

When you have too many orbs in the Sculptor that you aren’t using, you can donate them to your fellow clan members for them to create specific Clan Building orb bonuses just for them.

The only orbs that can be used for these special time-limited bonuses are those donated to you by the clan and that are stored in the Clan Building.

These exciting bonuses are the same type as those created by statues from the Sculptor, however they are time specific and only one can be active at a time. These shiny bonuses are as follows:

  • Green Vulcan orbs grant defensive bonuses during combat for a limited time
  • Orange Mars orbs grant offensive bonuses during combat for a limited time
  • Blue Maia orbs increase production for a limited time
  • Pink Juno orbs reduce healing and training times for 24 hours

Feeling generous = donate

You can now donate orbs from your Sculptor to your fellow clan members if you are feeling particularly generous.

The orbs you donate to clan members will be stored in their Clan Building and can only be used for their time-limited bonuses that depend on their orb amount and Clan Building level.

The only orbs that you can donate are those from your Sculptor and therefore you cannot donate orbs previously donated to you that are stored in the Clan Building.

Ask thy neighbour

Running low on orbs in the Clan Building and want to take advantage of these exciting new bonuses?

You can now ask your clan members to donate their Sculptor orbs for you to use in the Clan Building.

You can request orbs from your fellow clan members through your Orb Bonus tab in the Clan Building which will send a donation request message to the clan chat. You then have to simply wait and see how generous your fellow clan members are feeling.

Storage of Orbs:

The total number of orbs you can store in the Clan Building is unique to your account and relates to the upgrade level of your own Clan Building.

Upgrading your Clan Building will thus increase your storage for orbs in the building.

Each type of orb will take up a different amount of storage and therefore contributes a different amount to the bonuses. The amount that they are worth is as follows:

  • Small orbs = 1
  • Medium orbs = 3
  • Large orbs = 5

Strategy:

It’s safe to say that requesting orbs from your clan members may not always be successful and that you obviously won’t be donating orbs to everyone who asks. This is where you need to take strategy into consideration.

Now that you can visit your fellow clan members’ cities, which we outlined in another blog post, you can suss out who deserves your sparkling orbs and change up your tactics so you look more appealing to receive donations.

Training and healing all your gladiators, upgrading all your buildings to their maximum level, and taking full advantage of the Sculptor are some of the ways you can strategise your own city and evaluate your clan members.

So it’s time to save up your orbs, release your generosity and take full advantage of the glimmering bonuses that the Clan Building has to offer.

The arrival of the long-awaited Clans update

Grab your friends, show off your flags, and fight for victory – the clan system is finally here.

Where it all begins

All the excitement from clans starts from the Clan Building. Unlock this key to your empire once your Headquarters reaches level five and the fun can really begin.

Once you open the Clan Building you’ll see a list of all the available clans organised first by those set in your language, and followed by those set in English.

Follow the leader

Clans can be joined straight away if they are set to public by the clan’s creator.

However, it must be noted that you can only be part of one clan at a time and there is a maximum of fifty lanistae members in each clan. If you do not like your clan anymore, you can leave at any time.

If the clan creator sets their clan to private, you will need approval from the clan’s leader in order to join.

The clan leader also has the ability to promote clan members to the “general” position, which means they can also accept lanistae requests to be part of their epic clan.

Clan creation

Want to create your very own clan, be in charge of its members, and show off your own very own clan flag?

The process is simple. Through the Clan Building click the “create” button and you’re away.

Decide whether you want your clan to be public or private, and whether you want only the best lanistae to join your team by setting a minimum fame level.

Once created, not only can lanistae search for your clan name through the Clan Building, but you can also share your clan code with friends outside the game so they can be part of your epic team of heroes.

Chat with your clan mates through the in-app clan chat found on the bottom left of the city’s screen and you can share strategies, show off your heroes, and make friends.

Wave your flag

When creating your clan, you choose your legendary clan name and create your flag to flaunt your team’s brand. Explore a wide selection of patterns, logos, shapes, and colours for your flag and go crazy with your masterpiece.

Once you join or create a clan, your clan’s flag will not only fly high above the Clan Building, but will also be shown off at the entrance to your city, as well as in the League of Clans.

The League of Clans

As we outlined in a previous blog, there will be several changes to fame as you know it.

Once you join a clan, your fame will be combined with the other clan members to create your clan fame, which will change every “season”.

This fame will dictate which league you will be in in the League of Clans, and will govern whether you win an incredible sum of gems at the end of the season.

Only the greatest clans will win the biggest gem prizes by the end of the season, so tell your friends, raise your flags, and prepare to battle for the ultimate glory in the brand new clan system.

What we learnt from the Gladiator Heroes live Facebook chat

More levels, a new combat system and lanistae with wild imaginations; those are just some of the things we took out of our first live developers chat, held in the Gladiator Heroes Players group on Facebook this week.

The one-hour chat gave Spanish fans the chance to ask questions, send feedback and share their ideas for the future of the game.

“We were absolutely overwhelmed by the positive response”, said César Ríos, lead game developer, “Player feedback is an important part of how we design the game.”

For those of you who didn’t take part in the chat or just don’t understand the language, never fear; we’ve got a breakdown of the whole thing right here.

Multiplayer, multiplayer, multiplayer

The multiplayer system is a topic that lanistae are serious about. The ability to fight in real time, join clans and exchange resources with other players was a suggestion that came up multiple times.

Well, there’s good news for those of you who like a bit of teamwork; there are plans in the pipeline that will allow lanistae to fight alongside (and against) other gladiators in clans, as well as exchange materials and chat with other players.

It was also revealed that the next update, which will arrive to your iOS and Android devices sometime next week, will include a new prize system, with your winner’s bounty changing depending on the level of the multiplayer combat. These prizes can then be used in a new, fixed city building, which we will explain further on.

More levels to keep your Gladiators fighting

While they won’t come with the next update, sometime within the next few months we will be adding up to 70 new levels to the map.

The new combats will see lanistae send their gladiator to gushing waterfalls, seaside ruins and an other-worldly, suspended lair; where you can defeat your opponents by pushing them off the edge, or activate the ‘stone feet’ skills to stop them from pushing you!

If you’ve already made it to level 79, the last combate currently available on the main map in this edition, the next update will come with another combat system.

As a rival lanistae moves into your territory, you can take on his fighters in varying difficulty levels. The higher the level, the better the prize, and these prizes, just like in the new multiplayer system, can be used in a special new shop…

New gladiator types

While the next update will introduce a new, rival lanisate impeding on your city limits, the developers have future plans to incorporate both sexes into all gladiator classes. That means male dual weapons fighters, and female sword and shield, two-hands and spear gladiatrices.

Future updates could also come with the possibility of facing wild animals and mythical beasts in combat, rather than just other gladiators.

The keys to the treasure chest

So you’ve had a go at the new combat and multiplayer systems, and now you’ve got wooden, silver and golden coins on your hands. What to do? These battle prizes can be used in a new, fixed merchant shop in your city, where you can purchase chests of varying quality levels.

Our lanistae will echo in eternity

With so many ideas for new updates being thrown around our developers’ studio, feedback and ideas from our players are so valuable; they help us sort the golden nuggets from the dirt.

So here’s a word of thanks to our fans, our players, and every lanista currently training up his gladiators for glory – you are what makes Gladiator Heroes better every day.
